Our analysis of sustainability efforts in the last year, Autodesk’s sixth annual sustainability report, has several pieces of proof of our commitment to helping solve epic issues such as climate change, access to water, and healthcare. By doing our part, enabling action and inspiring design-led solutions amongst our customers, we’re contributing to a better world.
Experimentation is executed and improvements found using our own sustainability solutions, our customers and business operations. We have instituted programs to provide services to our customers; one aiding our clean tech customers, students and even more through our new Autodesk Foundation. Also, as we improve our software, we add sustainability advancements to the mix, especially in the building, infrastructure and manufacturing spaces.
As a company, Autodesk believes our employees are a valuable asset and are encouraged to positively contribute at work and outside of it.

Autodesk FY14 sustainability by the numbers
- 15 – The total number of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) office certifications worldwide, 5 of which were received in FY14.
- 4 and $3,000 – The number of grantees the Autodesk Foundation, launched in FY14, supports and the amount of employee donated funds the company will match.
- 32.5% – Renewable energy consumption increase in our global real estate portfolio.
- 5.8% – Reduction in absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
- 38.1% – Our carbon footprint decrease in absolute terms compared to 2009, our baseline year.
- 9.9% – Per employee decrease in CO2e emissions.
- 136 countries – Where digital downloads are available.
- 675,000 – Product downloads.
- 30 – Number of countries in which clean tech entrepreneurs are offered Autodesk software through the Autodesk Clean Tech Partner Program.
- $3.2 Million – Estimated value of Autodesk software donated to nonprofits.
- $250 Million – Autodesk’s commitment to software and services for American middle and high schools, expanding the Autodesk Design the Future Program which helps prepare students for careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).
- 200 – Educators worldwide using Building Performance Analysis Certificate Program to supplement coursework. The first-of-its-kind building performance analysis tools available to students and professionals online for free, since its launched in 2013.
- 6 – Number of times, Autodesk has been awarded one of the best companies to work for by FORTUNE magazine.
