December is our Global Month of Giving here at Autodesk, a time when employees demonstrate the culture of impact by giving back by contributing volunteer time and donations to the causes they care about most.
Autodesk offers several benefits to make it easier for its employees to have an impact: an annual donation match of up to $3,000 for every employee, 48 hours of volunteer time per year, and special incentives for volunteering on nonprofit boards and during sabbaticals.

All employees (including our CEO Andrew Anagnost and the rest of the executive team) are encouraged to take advantage of the donation match and volunteer benefits before the end of the year and share their stories of giving. Every year, people contribute to a broad range of causes supporting efforts that are most special to our employees in regions around the globe.
Here are some of my coworkers sharing the causes they care about most:
Employees from the London, UK office share the causes to which they contributed –Build Change, Nexleaf Analytics, Children with Cancer UK and Eden Reforestation Projects.
Manishgant Padmanabhan, a senior software engineer in San Francisco, CA, donated to SeaLegacy because our oceans need help.
Lena Talkhina, a community manager in Moscow, Russia, donated to a Russian charity that supports care and treatment of critical children.
Joe Abraham, chief of staff for Fusion Lifecycle in Michigan, gave to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital to support and understand, treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Claire FitzGerald, a sustainability manager in the California Bay Area, gave to Climate Ride to help raise awareness and support sustainability, active transportation, and environmental causes.
During the month of December, many Autodesk offices also hold holiday events that include impact-focused activities like assembling care kits for underserved communities, filling food bank orders and fund drives for local charities.
As 2019 draws to a close I’m inspired by the generosity of my colleagues from around the world world— not just in December, but all throughout the year. Seeing coworkers combining their skills to support innovative partners through our pro bono program and dedicating their time during our global month of impact are a few of the great reasons employees love to give back at Autodesk.
