Last week, Autodesk President and CEO Carl Bass was named a “Most Admired CEO” by the San Francisco Business Times. Carl’s “easy-going” style was noted by the newspaper, as was his work driving the company’s evolution from the desktop to the cloud. Carl was also recognized for helping the break into new markets, supporting Autodesk’s move into the maker space and championing research in emerging areas like bio-nano programmable matter. We often refer to Carl as Autodesk’s “maker in chief” — and the award referenced his passion for creating, and how this has helped fuel Carl to drive Autodesk forward, support the maker movement and create design tools for use by a much broader audience.
