This week, we held our annual customer conference Autodesk University in San Diego. Coming together under one roof were the innovators that design and make our physical world, from the cars we drive, to the buildings we live in, to the movies we watch, and much more. Autodesk has the privilege and unique opportunity to help our customers—architects, engineers, builders, manufacturers, visual artists, and software developers—reimagine how their industries can shape our world by transforming how they work.
Throughout the week we covered how emerging technologies like AI can do just that. Inevitably, all new technologies come with a lot of hype, sometimes leaving us frustrated and with dashed expectations. When it comes to AI, we’re still at the peak of the hype cycle, and despite what many companies are saying, the great sorting out of the good from the bad is just beginning.
And that’s exactly what we’re focused on – partnering with our customers, finding the bottlenecks in their workflows, getting data flowing to the right places, and accelerating their ingenuity.
A few of the exciting things we talked about at AU include how we’re:
- Doubling down on the future of building information modeling (BIM) with new data connections and AI capabilities for our customers in architecture, engineering, construction, and operations, including San Diego International Airport.
- Unveiling Autodesk AI-powered time-saving automation in our manufacturing cloud, Fusion, as well as design augmentation in our automotive design tool, Alias
- Making enhancements to our media and entertainment tools, revealing the latest in Wonder Studio, and connecting entire production pipelines with Autodesk Flow to put more power in the hands of artists and creators
- Deep-diving on Project Bernini, our paradigm-shifting research project that creates detailed 3D models in under a minute, significantly augmenting the work of designers, engineers, and creators
A lot is being said about the promise of AI. But the one thing I hope our users walked away with this year is that Autodesk AI offers incremental productivity gains, with simple and practical ways to get work done more efficiently today while building a foundation for a reinvented tomorrow. Autodesk is here to collaborate with our customers to create, capture, and deliver value in new ways for their industries today and in the future.
