The architecture industry is evolving at a rapid pace, and it also faces unprecedented demand. By 2050, cities globally are expected to double in population. Today’s architects face the complex challenge of creating sustainable, future-proof buildings for our collective well-being. Autodesk’s State of Design & Make report found 82% of AEC companies are feeling pressure from customers to improve sustainability; it’s no longer a “nice to have,” but a priority for the industry.

To support the future of the AEC industry, Autodesk recently launched Forma, an industry cloud to unify workflows across teams that design, build and operate the built environment. The first set of Forma capabilities targets the early-stage planning and design process to empower architects to use automations and AI-powered insights to simplify the exploration of design concepts, offload repetitive tasks and help evaluate environmental qualities while enabling more sustainable outcomes.

Learn more about Autodesk Forma.

We are excited to demonstrate Forma capabilities for the first time at the AIA Conference on Architecture 2023 (A’23), on June 89 in San Francisco. Architects can experience first-hand how Forma will give them time to focus on creative solutions.

As an early user of Forma, the Nordic Office of Architecture shares perspective on how the industry cloud will benefit its processes to design more sustainable, more informed architecture.

In addition to demos of Forma, A’23 attendees can learn more about how the built environment is designed and made with Autodesk.

Keynote: AEC Industry Panel

Friday, June 9 at 8:30 am PT at Moscone West, level 3

Moderated by Autodesk’s Amy Bunszel, Executive Vice President of AEC Design Solutions, the Day 2 keynote panel will discuss how improved integration can foster greater collaboration and drive better project outcomes, including more sustainable and resilient solutions.

Panelists include Robin Carnahan, Administrator of the General Solutions Administration; Jennifer Devlin-Herbert, FAIA, President and CEO of EHDD; and Eric Lamb, Board of Directors at DPR Construction.

Live Demos at the Autodesk booth

Thursday, June 8 from 10:00 am–6:30 pm PT and Friday, June 9 from 9:30 am–4:00 pm PT at Expo floor, booth #743

The Autodesk booth will feature six workstations with hands-on demos of products centered around key industry themes:

Planning: See the early-stage site planning, design, and analysis capabilities of Autodesk Forma in action, and learn how data-driven insights support architects to create better project outcomes and more sustainable buildings.

Sustainability: A changing climate demands new ways of living, working, designing, and making. Learn how Autodesk ReCap, Revit, and Insight help AEC firms minimize carbon impacts for new construction and renovations alike.

Design collaboration: Learn how you can workshare and keep your project teams on the same page at every stage of a design and construction project. Get a demo of how Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro syncs multi-disciplinary production workflows in AutoCAD and Revit, improving collaboration and coordination within your project teams.

Visualization: Bring photoreal, real-time experiences to your CAD and BIM projects with Twinmotion from Epic Games. Stop by the booth for a live demo of Twinmotion for Revit and see how to better communicate design intent, elevating design experiences for your clients and collaborators.

Cloud services: Data and workflow integrations, dashboards, custom applications and digital twins–see how Autodesk is building the developer platform for AEC digital transformation.

  • Receive a demo of the latest Digital Twin functionality in Autodesk Tandem and learn how by connecting data from the building’s lifecycle within one dynamic, digital replica, and aligning on outcomes from the beginning, you can rely on smarter buildings to improve operational performance.
  • Autodesk’s Manufacturing Informed Design (MID) connects design and build from day one, allowing building product manufacturers to define the guidelines for what’s possible with their products. Get a sneak peek of this emerging technology from Autodesk that helps architects design more quickly and with greater certainty.

Extended reality (XR): View a next generation tech preview of a brand-new immersive workspace and hear about the future of XR for collaborative design review. Want to try out XR collaboration tech for yourself? Experience a Revit model in the current VR solution, Prospect by IrisVR, a platform for design reviews and coordination meetings. Join the Autodesk XR Feedback Community to engage with and influence our latest immersive technologies and solutions for the AEC industry.
