Innovation rarely happens in a vacuum. In addition to being the result of a great idea<\/span>\u2014<\/span>and perhaps a few rough drafts along the way\u2014<\/span>meaningful innovation is often the product of strong collaboration, compromise, and a willingness to listen and take to heart alternate points of view. <\/span>I<\/span>t\u2019s<\/span> an especially important lesson to remember in our increasingly connected world, where the ability to gather feedback, collaborate, and ideate is often only a few clicks away.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span> As my colleague, Amy Bunszel, EVP of AEC Design Solutions, <\/span><\/span>shared recently<\/span><\/span><\/a>, Autodesk has redoubled our efforts to innovate in tandem with our customers. <\/span>We\u2019ve<\/span> focused on listening to more of their ideas, responding to their feedback, and getting more innovation into their hands, more often.\u202f<\/span><\/span> Over the past few months<\/span>,<\/span> we\u2019ve<\/span> unveiled dozens of exciting new innovations across our entire product portfolio\u2014in <\/span><\/span>Architecture, Engineering & Construction<\/span><\/span><\/a>; <\/span><\/span>Product Design & Manufacturing<\/span><\/span><\/a>; and <\/span><\/span>Media & Entertainment<\/span><\/span><\/a>. Most were the direct result of strong partnerships and listening to our customers\u2019 needs. One example is our <\/span><\/span>strategic collaboration with Epic Games<\/span><\/span><\/a> that will deliver new real-time 3D rendering and storytelling capabilities inside of Revit. Another is a new Carbon Calculator plug-in for Fusion 360 we <\/span><\/span>brought to trial with Makersite<\/span><\/span><\/a>. It combines <\/span>Makersite\u2019s<\/span> environmental impact and cost data with Fusion 360\u2019s product design data\u2014allowing customers to instantly calculate the environmental and cost impacts of their design\u2014a capability more customers are asking of us.<\/span><\/span>

Just one of the exciting innovations we\u2019ve announced in recent months: our strategic collaboration with Epic Games to deliver new capabilities inside of Revit.<\/p><\/div> This effort to listen and respond to customer feedback\u2014and deliver on their needs\u2014<\/span>isn\u2019t<\/span> limited to product innovations. As Autodesk has become a subscription-based business, <\/span>i<\/span>t\u2019s<\/span> changed the way customers work with us: how they <\/span>p<\/span>urchase<\/span> solutions, how they manage their software implementation inside of their organizations, and how they ensure <\/span>t<\/span>hey\u2019re<\/span> getting the most value out of their Autodesk subscription.\u202f<\/span> A great example<\/span> of this is <\/span><\/span>Autodesk Flex<\/span><\/span><\/a>. Launched last year, Flex is a new, cost-effective option for occasional users. <\/span>We\u2019d<\/span> heard from customers that not <\/span>all of<\/span> their users need a full subscription to Autodesk software.<\/span> Some <\/span>simply<\/span> need to review a file, gain insight on a specific project, or want to try out new products to expand their skillset. Flex is made for them. And <\/span>it\u2019s<\/span> an idea <\/span>that\u2019s<\/span> gaining momentum across the entire software industry\u2014as more companies offer \u201cpay-as-you-go\u201d options to complement their subscription offerings. <\/span>It\u2019s<\/span> an option<\/span> that Autodesk\u2019s customers are beginning to take advantage of, <\/span>leveraging<\/span> Flex to <\/span><\/span>save money and streamline how they deploy Autodesk software<\/span><\/span><\/a> across their organizations.<\/span><\/span> We also recently announced several additions and improvements to our subscription plans\u2014inspired by feedback <\/span>we\u2019ve<\/span> heard from customers\u2014aimed at bringing more value and more capabilities to them:<\/span> <\/p>\n
