Rendering of the future Autodesk Technology Engagement Center on California State University, Northridge\u2019s campus, courtesy of AC Martin.<\/p><\/div> On Friday, I joined Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost, our CMO Dara Treseder, elected officials, and leaders from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), in touring the site of the future Autodesk Technology Engagement Center.<\/span><\/span> Our tour was an Autodesk-led <\/span><\/span>extended reality (XR)<\/span><\/span><\/a> experience that was part of a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 32,000 square foot facility on the CSUN campus, made possible by a <\/span><\/span>recent <\/span><\/span><\/a>$5 million gift from Autodesk<\/span><\/span>. By wearing VR headsets, the virtual tour guided attendees through the architect\u2019s Autodesk Revit models of the facility<\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n

It will<\/span> include <\/span>state-of-the-art<\/span> research labs for design and fabrication<\/span> and <\/span>promote interdisciplinary research collaboration<\/span>.<\/span><\/span> But <\/span>that\u2019s<\/span> just the beginning.<\/span><\/span> It will also house the Global HSI Equity Innovation <\/span>Hub, with innovative programming that <\/span>leverages<\/span> technology to engage future students and their families in STEAM <\/span>(science, technology, engineering, arts<\/span>,<\/span> and mathematics)<\/span> discovery and exploration of college-to-career pathways. The <\/span>H<\/span>ub will also scale practices, working in collaboration with other CSU campuses<\/span> and <\/span><\/span>Hispanic-Serving Institutions<\/span><\/span><\/a> (HSI) across the nation<\/span>. These efforts aim<\/span> to accelerate educational equity for underserved students at HSIs <\/span>and<\/span> ensure a more diverse and inclusive future workforce.<\/span><\/span>
