More than 1,400 architecture students shared their visions of the Future of Architecture in the second edition of international Archi\u2010World Academy Awards<\/a>, with 12 talented participants handpicked by top architects for a prestigious internship at their firms.<\/p>\n

Sponsored by Autodesk, the Award Ceremony was held in conjunction with the BAU Exhibition<\/a> at the Munich Trade Fair Center in Germany.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe caliber of this year\u2019s Archi-World Academy Award entries were outstanding, and it\u2019s this next\u2010generation of talent who will shape the future of architecture and design,\u201d said Herbert Bickelmann, Senior Manager, Autodesk Education. \u201cWe\u2019re proud to be part of this international competition, and to do our part to prepare an industry\u2010ready workforce by equipping students, teachers and schools worldwide with free* access<\/a> to Autodesk software and learning materials so they can learn to solve tomorrow\u2019s design challenges today<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a look at some of the inspiring winning projects:<\/p>\n

Student:<\/strong>           Wallison Caetano, Brazil<\/p>\n

Project<\/strong>:            Vertical farm of Paulista Avenue<\/p>\n

Juror:<\/strong>               Mario Cucinella<\/a> from Mario Cucinella Architects<\/a>, Italy<\/p>\n

The concept behind this unique mixed-use building sees fresh produce cultivated in energy-efficient cells that make up the building complex, and then they\u2019re sold in a market on the ground floor and served in restaurants on the terrace. The external walls and floors of the building also allow rain water to captured and stored in the basement of the building and then recycled to irrigate the gardens in the building.<\/p>\n

\u201cI use Building Information Model and Autodesk Revit to generate graphically representative 3D models. By rendering my project in the cloud, I can also test my ideas and experiment quickly with different materials, textures, colors, illumination. This improves my productivity and my presentation results,\u201d said Caetano.<\/p>\n

Project<\/strong>:            Prototype AMPZ-1045, Cultural Bridge for the City<\/p>\n

Juror:<\/strong>               Paul de Ruiter<\/a> from Architectenbureau Paul de Ruiter<\/a>, Amsterdam<\/p>\n

Designed with El \u00c1vila National Park in Caracas, Venezuela, in mind, Travaglio\u2019s Cultural Bridge concept comprises a linear park with cultural and sporting centers within.  <\/p>\n

\u201cAutoCAD is the first program that I use when starting on a project and it enables me to draw with prevision. I can\u2019t do without it. It\u2019s compatibility with other programs also makes it like an international language for architectural design.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCarolina\u2019s beautiful, innovative and original design integrates construction and form. Her project is imaginative, playful and ambitious, and I hope she will come to join my team,\u201d said juror, Paul de Ruiter.<\/p>\n

  \"Victoria<\/a><\/p>\n

Student:<\/strong>           Victoria Kuripka, Ukraine<\/p>\n

Project<\/strong>:            Co-housing as the zone of influence in a depressive territory<\/p>\n

Juror:<\/strong>               Juan Manuel Herranz Molina<\/a> from Virai Arquitectos Madrid<\/a>, Spain<\/p>\n

Kuripka\u2019s project is an architectural master plan designed to reinvigorate depressed areas in west of Kharkiv in Ukraine by introducing new social housing models, a city department building, and public spaces for the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cArchitecture in this instance is used as a solution moving from the general to the specific, from the urban and territorial scale to the human scale. It carries out a serious analysis of post-industrial areas and makes a concrete and specific architectural proposal that is aesthetically attractive and develops new social housing models,\u201d said juror, Juan Molina.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday it\u2019s possible to build anything in 3D and using AutoCAD and 3ds Max allows me to experiment with different forms and ideas,\u201d said Kuprika.<\/p>\n
