Advancing our vision for a unified industry cloud for AECO.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n

Last fall at AU25, we introduced Autodesk Forma as the first end-to-end, cloud-based, AI-native platform<\/a> built for architects, engineers, contractors, and owners. We shared a clear ambition: to bring planning, design, construction, and operations together within a single connected environment spanning the full lifecycle of the built environment. <\/span>Today, that ambition takes an important step forward. Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is now Autodesk Forma, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of Autodesk Forma<\/a> as the AECO industry cloud. Construction has long been central to our strategy, and with this transition it becomes fully integrated within Forma, strengthening the continuity between design intent and project execution. <\/span>This is essential progress toward a more unified, data-driven future for AECO, where teams operate from shared information rather than isolated files, and where decisions made upstream carry context and clarity downstream. <\/span>\u201cOrganizations across AECO are recognizing that fragmented data and disconnected workflows limit productivity and decision-making,\u201d said Jeffrey Hojlo, research vice president at IDC. \u201cA platform approach that unifies project data and processes across the lifecycle is essential, and the evolution of Autodesk Forma reflects how the industry is moving toward more connected environments for planning, design, and construction.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

What this means for customers<\/h3>\n

For our customers, continuity remains paramount. There is no data migration, no disruption to existing workflows, and no changes to licensing, integrations, or project data. The tools teams rely on every day will continue to deliver the same trusted capabilities and performance. The difference is that those tools now operate within a more connected industry cloud that strengthens continuity across the project lifecycle.  <\/span>With Forma Data Management (formerly Autodesk Docs) serving as the common data environment across Forma, teams can now operate within a more connected lifecycle \u2014 from planning and design through construction and operations. Continued investment in construction<\/h3>\n

This transition reinforces Autodesk\u2019s continued investment in construction within Autodesk Forma, and we are expanding both access and capabilities to help teams make better-informed decisions across their projects.  <\/span>Beginning March 25, Forma Build Essentials<\/a> will bring together the core jobsite tools contractors rely on in one efficient and focused workspace. Teams can capture punch list items and issues with photos and locations, view the latest files and models, markup drawings, and log daily reports on web or the Forma mobile app. Designed for small to mid-sized teams and everyday work on site, it helps crews stay aligned and keep work moving. <\/span><\/p>\n

Forma Build Essentials will bring together the core jobsite tools contractors rely on in one place.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n

Also on March 25, Forma Data Management Essentials<\/a> expands access to cloud collaboration within Autodesk Forma, bringing desktop users and their project data to the broader ecosystem of connected workflows. Forma Data Management Essentials will be available to standalone subscribers of AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D, as well as the Product Design and Manufacturing Collection. By linking desktop workflows to cloud-connected project data, teams work from the same up-to-date information across planning, design construction, and operations. This strengthens coordination, reduces version confusion during handoffs, and gives construction teams clear visibility into current drawings, models, and project information as work moves toward execution.  <\/span>Today we are also introducing a beta of the Bidding tool, bringing proven bid management workflows from BuildingConnected directly into Forma\u2019s Preconstruction experience. By surfacing bidding in the same environment as Takeoff and Estimate, teams can manage multiple RFPs within a connected project context and streamline coordination across pricing and qualification, while collaborating more seamlessly across preconstruction activities. The beta is currently available through the US Storage Region and requires a BuildingConnected pro subscription along with either a Forma Takeoff or Forma for Preconstruction bundle subscription. Subcontractors and bidders can continue working as they do today, while project teams gain greater visibility and alignment within Autodesk Forma. <\/span><\/p>\n

Strengthening connected workflows<\/h3>\n

The evolution of Autodesk Construction Cloud into Autodesk Forma reflects a fundamental commitment to delivering a connected system across the built environment lifecycle. When teams work from shared data and integrated systems, they can identify risks earlier, reduce rework, and improve project outcomes. Greater continuity supports more efficient use of time, labor, and materials, creating the conditions for more sustainable delivery at scale. <\/span>We are also advancing our construction platform strategy. Autodesk has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rhumbix<\/a>, a construction technology company specializing in resource management solutions for labor and field productivity. We know that resource management is a critical need for our construction customers, and Rhumbix brings a proven solution with strong industry adoption among self-perform general contractors, specialty contractors, and select heavy civil contractors. Should our proposed acquisition of Rhumbix close as anticipated, our long-term intent is to deepen field-to-finance workflows within Autodesk Forma, strengthening visibility from the jobsite across project systems.* <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>From files to connected outcomes<\/h3>\n

At AU25, we spoke about moving from files to open, connected data; from silos to hyper-collaboration; and from isolated decisions to outcome-based BIM enhanced by AI and automation. <\/span>With construction now unified under Autodesk Forma, that direction is becoming tangible.
