For decades, Autodesk has helped our customers design and make the world around us, from the buildings we live and work in, to the products we use every day. Today, we are taking an important step forward in that journey.
Introducing Autodesk Operations Solutions
For years, we’ve supported how customers simulate, monitor, and optimize assets through solutions like Tandem, FlexSim, Fusion Operations, and Factory Design Utilities. With the introduction of Autodesk Operations Solutions (AOS), under the leadership of Senior Vice President Stephen Hooper, we are now unifying these technologies under a focused, scalable strategy. One designed to help customers operate and optimize their assets with the same level of intelligence and insight they bring to design and make. At the center of this evolution is a simple idea: the best outcomes happen when data and context flow in a continuous lifecycle. When design intent, execution, and real-world performance are connected, teams can learn faster, adapt in real time, and improve continuously. Building on our investments in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) and design and manufacturing (D&M) industries, we are strongly positioned to help our customers manage and optimize everything happening across their critical systems and assets in real-time.
Strengthening our platform with MaintainX
As part of this strategy, we have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire MaintainX, a modern, mobile-first solution for maintenance and asset operations. MaintainX is a key component of day-to-day operations. It is where work is executed, where maintenance is managed, and where critical data about asset performance is created in real time. Used by organizations around the world, MaintainX helps teams manage assets, track performance, and coordinate frontline workflows, all while capturing the operational data that is essential to improving outcomes over time. This makes it a powerful and highly complementary addition to Autodesk’s operations portfolio. As we add computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) capabilities to Autodesk, our goal is to connect design, simulation, and digital twins with real-world maintenance and execution. Autodesk has long ensured customers have a single, trusted source of truth for their most critical data. With our proposed acquisition of MaintainX, we aim to strengthen our system of action, enabling teams to turn that data into real-time workflows, decisions, and outcomes.
Why this matters in the age of AI
The industries we serve are at an inflection point. AI is rapidly transforming how work gets done, but its impact depends on one critical factor–data with context. AI is only as useful as the data it can learn from. And the most valuable data in the lifecycle is not just what was designed or planned. It is what happens in the real world. MaintainX is where that frontline operational data is created. It captures how assets perform, how work is completed, and how systems behave under real conditions. This data provides the context needed to make AI accurate, actionable, and valuable. AI does not replace these systems; it depends on them.
A long-term commitment to operations
By connecting lifecycle data, from design through operation, Autodesk is building a rich context layer that enables a new generation of capabilities, including predictive maintenance, intelligent automation, and real-time decision support. Together, these capabilities help organizations improve uptime and reliability, increase efficiency, reduce cost and risk, and advance sustainability goals. These outcomes reflect a broader shift in how Autodesk is investing in the future of operations. It is part of a long-term strategy to build a connected digital twin platform that spans the full lifecycle of assets and delivers compounding value over time. With AOS, as well as our proposed acquisition of MaintainX, we are investing in a future where data flows continuously across design, make, and operate, enabling better decisions, faster execution, and continuous improvement. The future of our industry will be defined by connected, data-driven operations. And we’re prepared to be a leader in that transformation.
